About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Cook 1 to join our culinary team at The Glenerin Inn Hotel and Spa. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals to the highest standards, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare meals according to menus and recipes, ensuring that dishes are attractive, correctly portioned, and served in a timely manner.
- Report any recipe shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues to the Chef or Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Clean and sanitize cooking stations daily, maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and adhering to legislative and organizational standards.
- Check and record food temperatures daily on a rotational basis for mealtimes, as per Health Promotion Act.
- Follow disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, and non-recyclable materials.
- Assist in other areas of the kitchen as required.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with a passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate will possess a high-school diploma or equivalent, a valid Food Handler's certificate, and at least 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen. A Red Seal certificate is an asset. If you are a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply.
