Position OverviewThe Financial Planning Manager plays a crucial role in utilizing exceptional analytical capabilities to harness data and available systems, thereby facilitating comprehensive financial assessments for pivotal management decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the preparation and presentation of essential components of the annual financial budget, forecasts, profitability assessments, and other value-added analyses.
- Conduct in-depth financial evaluations to support business decisions, including variance assessments, trend evaluations, and financial modeling. Provide insights and recommendations aimed at enhancing financial performance and achieving fiscal objectives.
- Assist in the ongoing enhancement of operational, system, and financial processes and governance.
- Compile and present regular financial reports and performance metrics to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor a team of financial planning and analysis analysts, offering guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Manage the distribution of workload to ensure timely completion of projects and deliverables.
- Collaborate within the Finance department to develop analytical skills that support key business decisions.
- Identify and communicate areas of opportunity and business risks to support the organization.
- Apply strong business acumen to foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing process efficiencies.
- Partner with various departments to prepare profitability analyses and customer pricing reviews as necessary, supporting the development and interpretation of key metrics and KPIs.
- Undertake additional duties and projects as required by the position.
- Accounting designation (CPA) is required.
- A university degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 5 to 7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, preferably within a wholesale or distribution context.
- A self-motivated individual with strong financial insight, adept at preparing analyses to gauge business performance.
- Experience in leading and developing a team to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Exhibits a high level of interest and aptitude for systems and applications that facilitate analysis and enhance efficiencies and controls over data.
- Proficient Excel skills; experience with Adaptive Insights is considered an asset.
