Job Description

As a key member of Vention's Operations team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a pivotal role in empowering and leading a team of 4, operating a global procurement network comprising 70+ suppliers and 1,000+ SKUs. Your responsibilities will include expanding strategic and tactical sourcing in a fast-growth environment, developing a global inventory strategy to support on-time-in-full (OTIF) targets, and optimizing supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic sourcing projects and departmental spend reduction and process improvement initiatives.
  • Source and procure materials and services, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage and optimize supplier performance, including contract compliance and reduction in total cost of ownership.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers, resolving performance/capability issues to ensure alignment.
  • Build and own relationships with internal clients, delivering best-in-class strategic sourcing, contract management, negotiation, and supplier management practices.
  • Meet metrics set for sourcing and procurement to ensure strategic advantage.
  • Optimize inventory levels for working capital optimization and parts availability, developing an adequate open-to-buy tool.
  • Establish procedures for inventory management, ensuring right-sizing of initial inventory levels on new SKUs and subsequent purchases.
  • Support supplier audits, ensuring proper capacity planning in the context of rapid growth.
  • Drive master supply agreement contract negotiations across a portfolio of categories.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of software developers to improve inventory planning software and underlying algorithms.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, or Logistics.
  • 15+ years of experience in a senior supply chain position.
  • Experience with hardware (electronic or mechanical components).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present to employees and upper management.
  • Passion for optimizing supply chains and engaging stakeholders in change.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with next-day deliveries and high-volume parcel shipments.
  • Strong data analytic background, with the ability to run complex analysis independently of the data science team.
  • Experience with a global distribution network, including multiple warehouses in Europe, North America, and Asia.
  • Interest in engineering topics and a willingness to learn.
