Job Summary

KIDS DEVELOPMENT DAYCARE is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Preschool Supervisor to lead our preschool program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that align with our daycare's mission and values, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care and education to children.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with early childhood educators to develop and implement programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Leadership: Lead activities, such as storytelling, singing, and outings, to promote children's learning and development.
  • Operations: Order supplies and equipment, and assist with record-keeping to ensure the smooth operation of the preschool program.
  • Communication: Communicate with parents, guardians, or supervisors to discuss children's progress and any concerns.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure knowledge of licensing regulations and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Behavioral Guidance: Establish guidelines for behavior and provide guidance to children on proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Teamwork: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Activities: Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Supervision: Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: Child Development Supervisor (ECE Level 3).
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
