Position Overview:

Strana Talent Inc. is seeking a dedicated chemical engineering professional to join a reputable chemical manufacturing firm. This is a permanent role where the selected candidate will play a crucial part in enhancing operational efficiencies and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee risk management initiatives in alignment with the expectations of the site leadership.
  • Engage in both internal and external compliance audits.
  • Formulate and implement procedures to meet compliance standards and obtain necessary certifications.
  • Identify critical risks within the facility and propose effective preventive strategies.
  • Champion process safety protocols throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with various operational teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and manage changes effectively.
  • Support diverse projects associated with health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Work alongside the operations director to enhance process chemistry.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at fostering a robust safety culture.
  • Assist in the preparation of environmental compliance documents.
  • Participate in special projects as directed by site leadership.
  • Engage in the management of alarm systems and control instrumentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a chemical production environment.
  • Registered member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
  • Experience in reading P&ID diagrams.
  • Experience in a unionized workplace is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards is beneficial.
