Job Summary

The General Repair Technician III is a key member of our team, responsible for handling service calls, monitoring, maintaining, and repairing systems, equipment, and installations that are not the responsibility of a specific trade. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance Activities

  • Respond to assigned service calls and follow up with the property management team.
  • Contribute to improving tenant satisfaction by ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Inspect and maintain systems, equipment, and facilities that are not the responsibility of a specific trade.
  • Coordinate contractor visits and accompany them when a third-party supplier is required.
  • Make recommendations on system maintenance to improve the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program.
  • Support the operations team in carrying out other types of preventive maintenance.

Corrective Maintenance

  • Perform or coordinate with a third-party supplier troubleshooting and repairs to systems, equipment, and facilities.
  • Support the operations team in carrying out other types of repairs as needed.

Administrative Activities

  • Receive, implement, track, monitor, and report on maintenance and repair work in the work order management system.
  • Record resolution data in the Maintenance Management Services database.
  • Support the Team Leader in receiving inspection reports from third-party suppliers and integrating them into the database.
  • Administer and monitor service contracts assigned by the Property Manager.

Health and Safety

  • Support the team leader in coordinating and receiving work permits for various jobs.
  • Report any incidents/accidents observed in accordance with the various procedures in place.
  • Participate in various training and awareness-raising activities on occupational health and safety issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and/or vocational training and/or certification or license.
  • Good knowledge of facility operation and maintenance processes and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
  • Strong environmental, health, and safety mindset.
  • Strong customer orientation and sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills for relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification of data.
  • Ability to work shifts, be available for emergency/standby calls, and emergency calls as they arise.
  • Strict adherence to health and safety policies, including the wearing of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to obtain appropriate security clearance.
