Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Specialist

The Government of Prince Edward Island is in search of an Electrical Maintenance Specialist. This role involves the upkeep of electrical and mechanical systems across various facilities managed by Housing Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and prioritize requests for electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of fire alarm systems, HVAC units, and fire suppression systems.
  • Upgrade outdated electrical systems and equipment.
  • Conduct tests on emergency power systems, including generators and emergency lighting.
  • Coordinate with tenants to arrange work schedules.
  • Utilize grounds maintenance tools such as chainsaws and shovels.
  • Support other trades in their assigned tasks.
  • Create and uphold a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Draft specifications and tender documents.
  • Assess the quality of work performed and provide constructive feedback to contractors.
  • Estimate time and materials needed for various job tasks.
  • Match purchase orders with delivery invoices.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities related to building maintenance and repairs as necessary.
