About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Supply Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic DSB. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and security of our buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and security of buildings and grounds, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of floors, walls, and windows.
  • Perform minor maintenance and servicing of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Collect and dispose of refuse and recyclables.
  • Remove snow and debris from walkways and parking lots.
  • Perform routine checks of buildings, playgrounds, and equipment for hazardous situations.
  • Maintain the presentability and attractiveness of grounds, including litter pickup, grass cutting, and shrub trimming.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance of furniture and equipment.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of custodial supplies.
  • Record meter readings, salting and sanding logs, and check fire extinguishers.
  • Direct student summer help and check work performed.
  • Provide in-service training for supply custodial staff.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 10 plus an additional vocational program of up to one year or completion of Grade 11 or equivalent.
  • Six months to one year's work-related experience.
  • Ability to use equipment such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and wet/dry vacuums.
  • Knowledge and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.).
  • Familiarity with Board and school policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills to work cooperatively with Board staff, students, parents, and the general public.
