Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Build Custom Cabinets: Create specifications for custom-made cabinets that maximize storage and meet our clients' needs.
  • Operate Woodworking Machines: Safely operate power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Shape and Finish Woodwork: Use hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files, to shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces.
  • Study Plans and Specifications: Carefully study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Trim Joints and Assemble Parts: Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Environment: Ensure a clean and safe work environment by maintaining equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Supervise Other Workers: Supervise and guide other workers to ensure efficient and effective production.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in cabinetmaking and furniture manufacturing.
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
