Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Addiction Nurse to join our team at the Vancouver Detox Centre. As an Addiction Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care and supportive counseling to clients undergoing detoxification, stabilization, and transition into other residential addiction services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized care and support to clients with complex needs, working effectively with challenging clients to maintain a safe environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and detox workers, to achieve excellence in client-centered care and education.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based pharmacological approaches and harm reduction strategies.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families on substance use, recovery, and mental health.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Two years' recent experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or substance use concerns.
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
