Position Overview:
AGF Investments is seeking an Associate to support the portfolio management division in enhancing various facets of the investment management workflow. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the capability to collaborate effectively within a team while also thriving in independent tasks to ensure optimal client service delivery. A proactive and solution-focused approach is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to create tools that efficiently execute trading strategies across numerous individual accounts.
- Oversee the daily implementation of trading strategies, which includes constructing, reviewing, and submitting trade documentation.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of current portfolio management software systems to pinpoint areas for potential efficiency improvements.
- Assist the Portfolio Manager with research-related tasks as required.
- Stay informed on political and economic developments that may influence the market landscape.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships both within the team and with external stakeholders.
- Address client inquiries for additional information promptly.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of the firm's marketing materials.
- Engage in ad hoc projects aimed at business growth or enhancing client service, which may involve updating digital content, exploring software solutions, or managing internal documentation.
- Maintain a focus on priorities that matter most.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Proven interest in capital markets, investment strategies, and personal finance.
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree.
- Successful completion of Level 1 of the CFA program.
- Achievement of CFA, MBA, or other relevant professional qualifications is advantageous (e.g., CPA, P.Eng).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional office setting.
- Work and educational backgrounds are not restricted to Finance or Business; candidates with experience in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics are also encouraged to apply.
Additional Role Information:
- This position is primarily office-based with limited opportunities for hybrid work.
- Client interaction is not a primary focus of this role.
- There is significant potential for increased responsibilities over time based on the candidate's performance.
Compensation:
The annual base salary ranges from $70,000 to $120,000, with additional bonus potential based on experience.
