Mechanic II

The Mechanic II is a skilled tradesperson responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and maintain heavy equipment and machinery, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, using tools and equipment such as engine diagnostic equipment and calibration devices.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in heavy duty truck or heavy equipment repair preferred.
- 5 years of experience assisting skilled trades persons in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive an automobile required.
This position is regularly exposed to all weather conditions and physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt. Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, and face shields must be worn to eliminate the risks associated with these hazards.
Physical DemandsThe Mechanic II must be able to stand for up to 12 hours a day, lift and carry up to 100 pounds occasionally, and perform other physical tasks as required.
