Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Cambridge Pro Fab Inc. is a family-owned Canadian manufacturing company with over 35 years of experience providing products and solutions to its customers. We are a North American leader in the supply of steel ducting for the oil, gas, and coal projects within the power generation industry.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipper/Receiver to join our team on our day shift. As a Shipper/Receiver, you will be responsible for tracking inventory levels, handling all aspects of shipping and receiving, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:- Receiving merchandise, checking and signing delivery slips, and assisting with unloading as necessary
- Inspecting and verifying incoming goods against invoices or other documents, recording shortages and rejecting damaged goods
- Accepting or returning merchandise according to established company procedures
- Organizing distribution and shipping of merchandise, making necessary verifications against documents, unpacking and routing goods to appropriate storage areas, and handling customer pick-ups
- Maintaining internal record-keeping systems
- Assembling containers and crates, packing goods to be shipped, and preparing identifying information and shipping instructions
- Taking inventory, maintaining storage area, organizing, and placing stock on shelves, ensuring the area is secure at all times
- Responsible for the tidiness of your designated area, ensuring no product is left on the shop floor, and putting everything away into racks or stores
- Working and assisting other employees in improving safety
- Notifying the Plant Manager or Supervisor of any problems that may affect the safety of other employees, production due dates, or the quality of manufactured products
- Filling out all shipping paperwork accurately and delivering to appropriate departments in a timely manner
- Filing purchase requisitions
- Receiving and checking incoming products against packing slips, MTRs, or letters of compliance to Quality Assurance
- Performing any other tasks required to better the company
- Filling in daily timesheets
- Following Cambridge Pro Fab's rules and regulations, including health and safety policies and procedures
- Abiding by the OHSA and other federal and provincial regulations
- Wearing approved personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and foot protection
- Maintaining the required level of quality
- Working and assisting other employees in continuously improving safety and production demands and quality
- Responsible for all receiving of goods
- Performing routine cycle counts on products
- Using overhead cranes, forklifts, ladders, and other equipment
- 3+ years of shipping/receiving experience is required
- Past forklift and crane experience is required
- Computer skills including: MS Office Suite
- Able to work at heights
- Experience operating tools and equipment, such as lift trucks and overhead cranes, would be considered an asset
- Valid G license is required and a clean driver's abstract
- Safety-conscious work habits
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Accountable and able to work in a team or with minimum supervision
