Critical Care Nurse

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse - Critical Care position at Brightshores is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled nurse to join our team. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill adults and occasionally children, during the critical phase of their illness.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage the care of critically ill patients, including those with cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and treatment goals.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patient responses.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and new technologies.
Requirements
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
- Current BCLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- Current PALS or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
- Post Anesthesia Course or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
- Critical Care Certificate or willingness to obtain within two years of hire.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent critical care experience within the last 3 years.
- Coronary Care Certificate.
