Environmental Services Assistant

As a key member of our team at Aspira Island View Retirement Living, you will play a vital role in maintaining the comfort and well-being of our residents. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Environmental Services Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute general repair and maintenance work, including painting, plastering, basic plumbing, and electrical tasks.
  • Clean and maintain floors, hallways, and common areas to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Empty garbage and recycling receptacles regularly to prevent waste accumulation.
  • Maintain building exteriors, grounds, and parking lots.
  • Remove snow and apply salt to ensure resident and visitor safety.
  • Mow and water grass, tend to flower gardens, and apply fertilizer as needed.
  • Complete required forms and documents, and write reports as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Certification, training, and work experience in building repairs, painting, floor care, safety procedures, property maintenance, plumbing, and heating and air conditioning.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language.
  • Sound knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
  • Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario applicants) and Criminal Records Check (British Columbia applicants).
