About the Role

As a Maintenance Assistant at Aspira Island View Retirement Living, you will play a critical role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents. This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs, painting, and cleaning, to maintain the overall condition of the building and its surroundings.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize resource allocation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to continuously improve maintenance processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a maintenance or facilities-related role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in a fast-paced environment.
