Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll & HR Coordinator to join our team in Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining account balancing records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for all hourly paid employees.
- Verify reports, transmit payroll to ADP, and produce payroll journal entry.
- Process all employee terminations, ensuring completion of final pay and vacation pay entitlements.
- Issue Record of Employment (ROE) and terminate employee benefits as per company policy.
- Prepare various monthly reports.
- Maintain employee pension files, including submission of enrolment, change, and termination forms to the carrier.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of payroll and benefit accounts.
- Coordinate hourly employee recruitment and on-boarding.
- Coordinate safety and other training.
Functional Requirements
- Regular use of computers, telephones, and miscellaneous office equipment.
- Ability to manage complex tasks.
- Read and understand the Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Understand and follow food, safety, and quality procedures.
- Read, understand, and follow the Quality System Procedures (QSP).
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education preferred.
- CPA member an asset.
- 3+ years of related experience.
Skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet target dates, prioritize, and practice excellent time management skills.
- Attention to detail.
