POSITION OVERVIEW
GreenShield Administration offers innovative health benefit solutions tailored for small to mid-sized businesses across Canada. As a recognized alternative to traditional insurance providers, we leverage technology and creative product development to address the needs of underserved employers. Reporting to the Director of Drug Plan Management, the successful candidate will provide strategic insights to shape GreenShield's pharmacy initiatives in the Quebec region. This role requires close collaboration with various teams to support client services and product innovation within the pharmacy benefit management sector.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, fully bilingual pharmacist with experience in the private benefits sector, particularly in Quebec. They should be adept at engaging with diverse stakeholders across the pharmaceutical and benefits landscapes, including clients, consultants, pharmacies, and regulatory bodies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in GreenShield's Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, offering expertise to inform drug benefit evaluations and decisions.
- Advise on formulary development, drug benefit administration, and claims adjudication while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Support the pharmacy clinical services team in evaluating drug prior authorization requests.
- Oversee competitive positioning, product development, and management of the pharmacy product portfolio focused on the Quebec market.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for existing and new pharmacy products and services.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting pharmacy benefits in Quebec.
- Engage directly with clients to address inquiries related to drugs and pharmacy services.
- Collaborate with the client service team to meet client expectations effectively.
- Develop and present pharmacy benefits-related materials for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in creating and maintaining high-quality RFP responses for pharmacy offerings.
- Represent GreenShield at industry conferences and events.
QUALIFICATIONS
- In-depth knowledge of the regulatory and competitive landscape for prescription drugs and pharmacy benefits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
- Proven organizational and planning abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of making informed decisions independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
- Licensed pharmacist in good standing in Quebec.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Background in the private benefits industry.
- Familiarity with formulary review and health technology assessment.
