Diesel Engine Mechanic Job Description

Desharnais pneus et mécanique is seeking a skilled Diesel Engine Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment, and adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
Requirements
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field
  • Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of experienced mechanics. The work environment is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift heavy loads and work in a variety of weather conditions.
