Municipal Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Asphalt Equipment Operator to join our construction team in Saint John, New Brunswick. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of highways and other paving operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate various equipment such as Rollers, pavers, brooms, skid steers, backhoe, plate tampers, etc. to apply asphalt to highway/construction projects
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
  • Ensure the safety of fellow employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 2 years experience operating various equipment in a construction environment is an asset (broom, roller, paver, spreader, tail-ender and loader etc)
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Willingness to work in a team environment; sometimes long hours are required
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly
  • Working safely is a condition of employment
