Position Overview: The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Coordinator to oversee vital conservation initiatives aimed at safeguarding our natural heritage.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement conservation strategies aligned with regional priorities to protect essential habitats and enhance species recovery efforts.
- Engage with landowners to negotiate and finalize real estate transactions, including acquisitions, donations, and conservation easements.
- Supervise project coordinators, interns, and volunteers in the field to maintain the ecological integrity of protected areas.
- Manage project budgets and track progress to ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor expectations.
- Coordinate with external consultants and specialists as needed to support project objectives.
- Represent NCC in public engagements to promote conservation projects and foster partnerships.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management within the environmental sector.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams.
- Excellent public speaking abilities and capacity to communicate scientific concepts effectively.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with data analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Valid driver's license for travel as required.
Preferred Attributes:
- Fluency in French, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity with legal conservation mechanisms.
