Job Overview:

This position involves delivering physiotherapy evaluation and treatment services to various units including Complex Continuing Care, Slow Stream Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, Behavioral Neurology, and Ambulatory Services. The physiotherapist will collaborate closely with an inter-professional team to assist patients in achieving their maximum physical and functional potential, facilitating their return to independent living in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical evaluations, develop care plans, implement treatment strategies, and manage discharge processes for a diverse patient population including complex geriatric, neurological, and musculoskeletal cases.
  • Engage in the education and mentorship of physiotherapy students and assistants.
  • Promote a systematic, evidence-based approach to client-centered care, program development, and professional practice in collaboration with team members and volunteers.
  • Oversee the patient care plan and provide guidance, supervision, and monitoring of physiotherapy assistants.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association is advantageous.
  • Experience working with geriatric patients with multiple medical conditions or cognitive impairments is preferred.
  • Experience in clinical instruction and teaching for physiotherapy students is a plus.
  • Interest or experience in developing evidence-based programs is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Meditech, MDS, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
