POSITION OVERVIEW

The role serves as a vital link between D&H Distributing's Sales, Resellers, and Manufacturers, focusing on achieving both customer satisfaction and vendor success. The primary objective is to enhance vendor-specific sales breadth, frequency, and revenue, aligning with D&H's strategic vision and values to boost sales of Manufacturer's offerings.

With an emphasis on expanding vendor sales through both new and existing clientele, the Sales Consultant acts as an extension of the vendor or technology category. This role is crucial for educating and enabling the sales of innovative technical products, programs, and services. The Sales Consultant is expected to maintain a comprehensive understanding of various industry trends and technologies, leveraging their expertise along with insights from other D&H professionals to develop, position, and sell advanced solutions, programs, and services.

The Sales Consultant will engage with D&H personnel to ensure that internal teams are well-informed and capable of supporting sales opportunities effectively. Consistent communication regarding key vendor initiatives is essential to foster profitable business growth. The Sales Consultant will provide specialized consultation, training, and sales resources to peers and external partners, acting as an extension of the vendor organization to drive programs and initiatives to channel partners.

The Sales Consultant will collaborate with Senior Specialists to devise and communicate tactical and strategic initiatives and forecasts that align with organizational goals and divisional objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Proactively collaborate with D&H sales, purchasing, and marketing teams to promote and track vendor-specific sales initiatives and reseller programs.

· Cultivate awareness of vendor SMB strategies.

· Manage and maintain target customer lead lists for engagement and development by the sales team.

· Conduct data-mining to identify new resellers and broaden product offerings.

· Oversee customer lead development and provide necessary support to ensure leads are effectively followed through to closure.

· Identify new opportunities outside of existing customer bases.

· Maintain regular communication with vendor account managers.

· Provide weekly updates to D&H management.

· Coordinate product training and ongoing education for the sales team.

· Collaborate with the TMR group to create and implement outbound call campaigns targeting new and existing resellers.

· Work with D&H marketing to develop reseller-ready content for email distribution.

· Engage current resellers purchasing from a single manufacturer category to expand their product knowledge and offerings.

· Promote and drive attendance to Vendor Live Events.

· Develop a deep understanding of manufacturer programs, product offerings, and competitive advantages.

· Identify and target resellers to enhance vendor business and communicate these insights to the sales teams.

· Collaborate with D&H Resellers to deepen their understanding of vendor products and solutions.

· Manage lead development and follow-up to close business opportunities with D&H sales teams.

· Provide essential support to develop leads and ensure they are followed through to closure.

· Aim to grow profitable sales and market share for the vendor within D&H.

· Participate in training sessions with D&H and vendor personnel, both in-person and online, as required.

· Engage with vendor or third-party Field Sales to convert leads into new business opportunities.

· Collaborate with D&H Outside Field Sales Representatives.

· Recap reseller feedback and share insights with the team to generate additional business opportunities.

· Conduct data-mining to broaden product offerings and develop new reseller relationships.

· Process customer orders in the computer system.

· Respond to all customer inquiries professionally.

· Provide backup support to Senior Vendor Sales Specialists as needed.

· Become a subject matter expert on all specific manufacturer programs and product offerings.

· Maintain a professional company image through all interactions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.

- 1 to 3 years of experience in sales or marketing.

- Experience in electronic sales is a plus.
