Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Crane Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Hercules SLR. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on various hoists and cranes to ensure they are in good working condition and meet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on overhead cranes and their components to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Diagnose equipment problems and estimate costs of repairs, replacements, and maintenance.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on overhead electric cranes and their components.
  • Consult with customers regarding repair and safety-related issues and discuss recommendations.
  • Complete reports on inspected items accurately and submit to administration for processing.
  • Maintain paperwork and records of used inventory for billing and certification purposes.
  • Pick up and deliver products to customers as required in company vehicles.
  • Assist in the development of efficient and effective work methods that are consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide input to customer quotes.
  • Complete cycle counts of inventory on a periodic basis, as required.
  • Perform general labor and/or maintenance work.
  • Comply with company quality and safety procedures for completing work.
  • Follow customer safety and quality rules when working at customer sites.
  • Maintain company equipment used on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
  • Some travel, possible work evenings and weekends as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as an Overhead Crane Technician or in a related field is an asset.
  • Experience performing maintenance and troubleshooting on overhead electric cranes is an asset.
  • Experience with maintenance, inspection, and repairs on mobile cranes and man-lifts is an asset.
  • Experience with working at heights, lifting gear inspection, wire rope examiner, and ASME/OSHA rigging fundamentals and requirements is an asset.
  • Knowledge of electricity and hydraulics, capable of troubleshooting for general maintenance.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable.
  • Must safely lift 50 lbs. from floor level to waist level.
  • Establishes work priorities, ensures deadlines are met, and procedures are followed.
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communicates with customers in a professional manner.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
