Director of Transportation Engineering

CIMA+ is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Transportation Engineering to lead our expansion efforts in Nova Scotia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to drive business growth and profitability in the Maritime region.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development: Identify and contribute to business and strategic development initiatives for regional objectives and target client programming.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other CIMA+ business lines to identify and pursue opportunities with Nova Scotia and Maritime Authorities and public & private clients.
- Growth Strategy: Develop a growth strategy and implement it with the addition of Transportation staff to CIMA+.
- Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership, regulatory oversight, and mentorship to the developing and growing team and your clients, both internal and external.
- Development Initiatives: Engage in development initiatives related to transport planning, transport infrastructure (roads and bridges).
- Quality and Safety: Champion safety and quality and ESG initiatives.
- Operational Standards: Define, implement, and maintain appropriate operating standards and processes.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience working in the transportation market in Nova Scotia and the Maritimes, with a preferred focus on bridges and roads projects.
- Professional Designation: Professional Engineer, or other professional designation, registered or eligible to be registered in Nova Scotia.
- Strategic Planning: Experience with corporate strategic planning initiatives and a demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategies.
- Market Understanding: Demonstrated considerable understanding of the overall market including future influences and trends.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written in English), client engagement, and ability to interact effectively within all levels of the organization in collaboration.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership capabilities in personnel and performance management, decision making, change management, employee development, and team building.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service acumen to support challenging situations along with sound commercial judgement and management skills as well as entrepreneurial ability.
