Job Title: Field Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Field Technician to join our team at Englobe. As a Field Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our construction materials and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules and regulations.
  • Inspect the quality of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, sealant, and membrane.
  • Monitor the placement of various construction materials and workmanship.
  • Report any non-conformance concerns to management.
  • Execute tests in the field or laboratory on construction materials to assess their quality.
  • Prepare and collect samples for laboratory testing.
  • Perform compaction testing using a Nuclear Densometer.
  • Test plastic concrete on site and cast samples for lab testing.
  • Assist in conducting asphalt and concrete coring for thickness and material composition investigations.
  • Ensure accuracy of test data.
  • Write quality control inspection and test reports.
  • Maintain testing equipment in good condition.
  • Maintain calibration of equipment.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma.
  • College diploma in Civil Engineering (an asset).
  • Excellent teamwork, autonomy, and organizational skills.
  • Good physical condition, with occasional heavy lifting required.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for site travel.
  • Availability to work different shifts and schedules.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and schedules on short notice.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to listen, learn, and apply instructions from immediate supervisors.
  • Ability to use apps for inspection services.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety.
