Job Summary

Vancouver Community College is seeking a highly skilled and organized Laboratory Demonstrator to assist instructors in the performance of their duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and assisting with demonstrations, supervising students, monitoring lab/clinic operations, and maintaining inventory of supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist instructors with demonstrations and day-to-day operations, including maintaining lab schedules and inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Supervise students and monitor activities, ensuring a positive and respectful environment.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, including coordinating regular maintenance activities and handling repairs.
  • Ensure premises and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion, and monitor collection of hazardous waste products.
  • Collaborate with instructors to identify and address issues and/or concerns.
Requirements
  • Completion of a 2-year Community College program in a relevant discipline and 2 years' related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.
  • Current CDA registration and practicing license with the College of Dental Surgeons (for Dental Assisting position).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a considerable workload.
