We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures, including echocardiograms and Doppler studies, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct cardiac ultrasound examinations using advanced equipment and techniques to produce high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists and cardiologists.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain the examination process, and answer questions to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
- Operate echocardiography equipment, including processing and archiving of acquired data, and monitor patient safety during procedures.
- Provide information and education to patients and staff on topics related to cardiac ultrasound procedures and consent.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
- Graduation from a recognized training program in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography and certification with Sonography Canada or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Completion of Intravenous Therapy training course or applicable experience working in IV Therapy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice for Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography, including aseptic techniques and organization policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
