Job Summary:

The York Region District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Leader - Grade 8-10 CASA Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with varying physical and emotional conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mild-moderate developmental disabilities
  • Collaborate with classroom teams to create a positive and productive learning environment
  • Provide therapeutic support and interventions to students as needed
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure student success
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in special education

Requirements:

  • Valid Ontario teaching certification
  • Experience working with students with special needs
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Commitment to the Assessment for Learning model
