Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison to serve as a scientific resource for Canadian experts in the field of Gastroenterology and inflammatory bowel disease. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing in-depth, cutting-edge scientific information to the medical community, including the latest scientific literature, research from major scientific conferences, and updates on Lilly's educational activities and pipeline research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with scientific experts and thought leaders in the field of Immunology and Gastroenterology.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date medical and scientific knowledge to customers, responding to their inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Enhance scientific knowledge by attending scientific meetings, conducting literature searches, and communicating regularly with colleagues.
  • Support the affiliate medical business objectives and cross-functional partners by interfacing with Lilly resources and internal business partners.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in health sciences (PhD, MD, Pharm D) with 2-3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic experience in Immunology - Gastroenterology.
  • OR MSc in health care/professional designation (BScN, PT, RD etc.) considered if 5 or more years of relevant clinical experience in Immunology - Gastroenterology.
  • OR previous MSL experience and sound knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry.

Preferred Skills

  • Intellectual curiosity and intelligence about the field of immunology/autoimmune disorders.
  • Ability to critically appraise scientific information/literature.
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to comprehend large amounts of scientific content and communicate it in a clear and concise fashion.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong/collaborative peer-to-peer relationships with external customers.
  • Familiarity with the academic community and medical research.
  • Significant direct experience in servicing customer needs for complex information.
  • Experience in professional networking with positive mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and cross-functional team members.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work within teams to prioritize key projects and medical tactics.
