Job Summary:
BCIT's School of Construction and Environment is seeking a regular, full-time Faculty member who is an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with expertise in municipal engineering to strengthen BCIT's civil engineering program.
The successful candidate is expected to have the ability to teach the suite of courses related to municipal engineering and to teach and/or assist in other civil engineering courses.
Responsibilities:- Teach and develop curriculum for municipal engineering courses
- Assist in the development and delivery of other civil engineering courses
- Participate in continuous program improvement and administration
- Contribute to the department's research and industry engagement activities
- Current Professional Engineer registration in Canada or the U.S.A.
- Graduate degree in civil engineering
- Minimum four years of applicable design or construction experience related to civil/municipal engineering in North America
- Industry experience and knowledge in municipal engineering
- Industry experience in construction management, project management, and/or geotechnical engineering would be an asset
- Experience in multi-disciplinary engineering projects
- Strong working knowledge of Civil3D and other industry standard software for municipal engineering
- Experience using geospatial data analytics software in engineering projects would be an asset
- Experience working on projects addressing impact, regulatory, and climate change issues
- Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Teaching experience
- Experience in training, developing or mentoring technologists or junior engineers
