Job Overview

Work Environment

The role is situated in a general manufacturing setting, where attention to detail and precision are paramount.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adjust and set machine or equipment controls for optimal performance
  • Develop and refine manufacturing and processing protocols
  • Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
  • Document deviations from specifications and maintain inspection records
  • Utilize precise measuring instruments to verify dimensions of machined parts
  • Set up and operate both conventional and CNC machine tools
Required Certifications
  • Machinist Trade Certification
  • Tool and Die Maker Trade Certification
  • Tool and Die Maker Red Seal Certificate
  • Machinist Red Seal Endorsement
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Mastercam CAD/CAM
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks software
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Windows
  • Experience with CNC machinery
Tools and Equipment
  • Tool grinders
  • Surface grinders
  • Milling machines
  • Drill presses
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
