Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre.

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, assess and manage respiratory conditions, and develop and implement individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage respiratory conditions in neonates, including oxygen therapy, inhaled medications, and airway management.
  • Collaborate with the NICU team to develop and implement individualized care plans, including respiratory care, nutrition, and developmental support.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on respiratory care and disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of Level 1 of clinical placement from an accredited and recognized Respiratory Therapy Program and continued enrollment in a recognized education program.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
