We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Dietitian to enhance our health services. This position is part-time and involves working across multiple locations. As a Dietitian, you will be instrumental in delivering nutritional advice and support to individuals in care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated on the latest research by participating in dietary workshops, seminars, and educational events.
  • Evaluate the physical condition, medical directives, and psychological needs of clients to ensure optimal nutritional standards.
  • Investigate advancements in long-term care related to dietary practices and nutritional needs.
  • Implement dietary strategies with a focus on sustaining or enhancing a client's quality of life.
  • Regularly assess clients for any changes in their physical capabilities and future care requirements.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of dietary plans based on client progress and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Engage in care plan discussions with clients' families to ensure their involvement in dietary programs.
  • Document all dietary progress, including counseling sessions and dietary instructions.
  • Evaluate the necessity for new feeding methods.
  • Provide guidance to the food services department regarding dietary therapy and nutritional needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Foods and Nutrition or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists is required.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations with composure.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and efficiency in decision-making.
