Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is pivotal to our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, while also providing key insights that support strategic decision-making. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and will work in a hybrid capacity, splitting time between our office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including reconciliations and necessary adjustments.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing detailed financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with project managers to monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management.
  • Utilize Microsoft Great Plains ERP to optimize and maintain accounting processes.
  • Assist the Controller with audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Requirements:

  • CPA designation is required.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates from the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains ERP is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
