BCIT is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Services Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities and Campus Development department, you will be responsible for developing and managing the maintenance, operations, and capital renewal functions of our specialty campuses.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement sound preventative maintenance programs to ensure all facilities are functioning safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable laws and codes.
- Manage maintenance upgrades and renovation projects, directing consultants and contractors as needed.
- Establish good work control practices to optimize maintenance priorities and customer needs with available resources.
- Develop and oversee operational and capital expenses budgets, engaging in continuous process improvement to streamline financial processes.
- Liaise with the Safety, Security, and Emergency Management department to develop best practices in safety and develop operational contingency plans for all specialty campuses.
- Oversee consultants and contractors, including hiring, training, and managing performance.
- Participate in professional organizations and stay current on state-of-the-art initiatives in the field of practice.
- Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Three to five years of current managerial experience in a facilities or manufacturing environment, preferably in a unionized setting.
- Field Safety Representative certification is an asset.
- Strong background in accounting and finance, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated ability to lead others, build effective work teams, and plan and implement change.
