Permanent Part-time Position
About the Role
- We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Blanche River Health.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures, analyzing results, and providing accurate and timely reporting to healthcare professionals.
- As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will work collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including blood collection, sample preparation, and testing.
- Analyze test results and provide accurate and timely reporting to healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment.
- Provide excellent customer service and communication skills to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Laboratory Technician training program or equivalent.
- Registered with the Medical Laboratory Professionals Association of Ontario (MLPAO) as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
- Preference will be given to Medical Laboratory Technicians who have the Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (cMLA) or Technologist in Medical Laboratory Science (TMLPAO) designation.
- Experience in Medical Laboratory and Phlebotomy is an asset.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately, under pressure, with minimum supervision, and establish priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
