Supervisor of Child, Youth and Family Development

YMCA of Northeastern Ontario is a vibrant organization committed to enhancing community foundations through personal development, engagement, and leadership opportunities. With a rich history of serving the North Bay and Greater Sudbury communities, we are seeking a Supervisor of Child, Youth and Family Development to oversee our educational child care services.

Position Overview: This full-time role is responsible for managing the daily operations of child care facilities for children aged 0-12 years. Under the guidance of the Manager of Child, Youth & Family Development, the Supervisor will ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality educational programs while adhering to the YMCA's policies and all relevant legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in care.
  • Oversee and support the implementation of high-quality educational programming.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new families joining the program.
  • Maintain accurate records for children and staff personnel files.
  • Develop and execute site plans to maintain optimal site capacity.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to program delivery.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with mandatory certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent recognized by the Ministry.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a child and/or youth environment.
  • Active membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
  • Current immunization record, clear TB test, and medical note confirming fitness for duty.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid G class driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check.
