Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Mechanical Engineering Professor to join our team at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing courses in manufacturing systems, system selection, and cost justification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver courses in manufacturing systems, including group technology cellular manufacturing operations, transfer and assembly line systems, and material transport and storage systems.
  • Develop and implement process planning, tolerance analysis, and Taguchi methods in manufacturing and assembly.
  • Teach just-in-time production and quality function deployment techniques.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum in mechanical engineering.
  • Conduct research and publish papers in the field of mechanical engineering.

Requirements

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with specialization.
  • Strong background and demonstrable expertise in manufacturing systems and mechanical engineering.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing as a professional engineer in one of the provinces of Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching and developing courses in manufacturing systems.
  • Publication record in reputable journals and conferences.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
