ROLE OF THE PRESIDENT & CEO

The President & CEO will be instrumental in the organization's transformation and growth. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this leadership role is vital in shaping the management and strategic direction of the organization and its initiatives. The President & CEO will cultivate strong relationships with the community, funders, partners, and staff to drive the strategic objectives of the organization.

KEY PRIORITIES

  • Represent the organization within the Provincial Lead Agency Consortium, advocating for its role in provincial system planning and initiatives.
  • Guide the completion of the Strategic Plan in alignment with the organization’s mission and vision to support children, families, and communities.
  • Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion to foster innovation and creativity within the community.
  • Lead the leadership team in managing the organization ethically and effectively, embodying the values of a Lead Agency.
  • Establish client-centered program planning and service direction.
  • Advocate for the organization’s needs through programming and operational management.
  • Oversee budget administration to ensure optimal resource utilization and financial health.
  • Implement accountability standards for budget tracking and risk management.
  • Foster an organizational culture that inspires passion for the mission and vision, ensuring robust human resources policies.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with other service providers and government entities.
  • Enhance the organization’s visibility and influence within the community to identify collaborative opportunities.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of funding applications while maintaining strong relationships with funding bodies.
  • Develop a Governance Model with the Board of Directors to ensure focus on the Strategic Plan and fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector, with a blend of education and practical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated success in senior management roles, particularly in human resources, organizational management, and financial oversight.
  • Proven leadership experience in complex organizations within youth mental health or related fields.
  • Successful track record in change management and cultural transformation.
  • Ability to forge strong partnerships with relevant organizations to advance the mission effectively.
  • Experience in developing and executing long-term strategic plans with aligned budgets and operational frameworks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of anti-racist and anti-oppression principles and practices.
  • Strong motivational skills to create an inclusive work environment reflecting community diversity.
  • Expertise in conflict resolution and staff training on policy and system changes.
  • Knowledge of legislation and best practices in the non-profit sector is preferred.
