Job Summary

The Vice Provost of Academic Services is a key leadership position at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the Academic Services units. This role requires a strong understanding of academic program development, institutional planning, and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Academic Program Leadership
    • Develop and implement academic program strategies that align with the institution's overall vision and mission.
    • Foster a culture of academic excellence and innovation.
    • Ensure the development of high-quality academic programs that meet national accrediting standards.
    • Provide leadership for quality assessment and review.
  • Institutional Planning
    • Advocate for the development of Saskatchewan Polytechnic's Multi Year Business Plan (MYBP) for program areas.
    • Ensure plans and directions are current with emerging trends in the future of work and learning.
    • Contribute to the corporate decision-making process and strategic organizational direction.
  • Relationship Management
    • Foster positive working relationships among Academic and Administrative Services units.
    • Collaborate with Deans, Associate Vice Presidents, and Special Advisor to ensure high-quality and consistent services.
    • Act as a resource to the Provost & Vice President, Academic, President and CEO, and management staff on academic program matters.
  • People Management
    • Ensure a positive, diverse, and inclusive work and learning environment.
    • Recruit and retain outstanding senior leaders and staff at all levels.
    • Coach and mentor direct reports to ensure their success.
  • Resource Allocation
    • Ensure resource allocation for all academic programs aligns with organizational planning processes.
    • Develop innovative solutions to resource challenges.
    • Maximize revenue generation, where appropriate.
