We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC. As a Cardiovascular Technologist, you will play a critical role in monitoring patients' ECG and hemodynamics during various invasive procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for procedures by applying electrodes and performing shave prep as necessary.
- Gather patient information and history from patient records and enter orders in the electronic medical record system.
- Set up, calibrate, and monitor patients' ECG and hemodynamics during procedures, conveying vital information to physicians.
- Enter data and prepare reports, analyzing recorded hemodynamics and calculating valve gradients and areas.
- Maintain and troubleshoot various equipment, including physiological data monitoring systems and defibrillators.
- Prepare related paperwork for STEMI cases and assist in pulling supplies for procedures.
- Participate in defibrillating, external pacing, and cardioversion as directed by physicians.
- Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology.
- Two years' recent experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eligibility for registration with the Canadian Association of Cardiology Pulmonary Technologists (CACPT) and/or CCI RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) credential.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
