Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist

Job Summary:

The Cardiovascular Technologist plays a crucial role in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, working under the supervision of a Cardiologist to monitor patients' ECG and hemodynamics during various invasive procedures. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to operate complex equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for procedures by applying electrodes and performing shave prep as necessary.
  • Gather patient information and history from Meditech EMR, MUSE, and the provincial Cardiac Registry (HeartIS).
  • Enter orders in Meditech and prepare information for patient charts.
  • Set up, calibrate, monitor, and analyze patients' ECG and hemodynamics during procedures.
  • Convey vital information and changes to physicians.
  • Enter data and prepare reports, including analysis of recorded hemodynamics.
  • Maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform related duties.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology.
  • Two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Canadian Association of Cardiology Pulmonary Technologists (CACPT) and/or CCI RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) credential.
