Your Role: Audiovisual System Designer

Reporting to the Montreal V&I system designer team leader, you will play a vital role in supporting our sales department and project execution teams. Your expertise in audiovisual design will be instrumental in delivering exceptional solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to design customized audiovisual systems based on client requirements, creating detailed bill of materials (BOMs) and bid support packages.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project needs, analyze existing infrastructure, and identify potential challenges or opportunities.
  • Validate equipment choices and system designs, including the development of custom solutions when necessary.
  • Estimate labor requirements for projects, considering specialized equipment, tools, materials, and cabling.
  • Create technical drawings to illustrate project scope, including block diagrams, single-line diagrams, architectural plans, and more.
  • Develop comprehensive Scope of Work documents outlining project details and deliverables.
  • Engage with clients and sales representatives to discuss project requirements and provide technical clarifications.
  • Support project managers and their teams during the execution phase, ensuring smooth implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the operations team and clients before and during system implementation.
  • Maintain adherence to technical standards and ensure project deliverables meet specifications.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in the audiovisual domain.
Your Profile:
  • Proven experience in audiovisual design, project management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of sound, lighting, control systems, video, and video conferencing technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret advanced single-line diagrams, construction plans, and electrical elevation drawings.
  • Familiarity with software such as AutoCAD 2010, MS Project, dimmer functionality, lighting configurators, and audio/video consoles.
  • Specialized skills in sound and/or lighting configuration software, including DSP type, sound analysis, and calibration tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to handle complex situations.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for client interaction.
