Pinecrest Remembrance Services Ltd: Groundskeeping Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Groundskeeping Supervisor to join our team at Pinecrest Remembrance Services Ltd. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our grounds maintenance department, ensuring that our outdoor spaces are well-maintained and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties effectively.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for the maintenance and upkeep of our grounds, including mowing, pruning, and other tasks as needed.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Estimate the time and materials required for various grounds maintenance tasks, ensuring that we stay within budget.
  • Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Oversee the construction of decks, walls, and other landscape features, ensuring that they are built to high standards.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Lead a team of landscape construction staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and training to perform their duties effectively.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of work completed, including hours worked, materials used, and other relevant information.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Ensure that all equipment is in good working order, performing regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed, ensuring that we have everything required to complete our tasks.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 Years of Experience: We are looking for a candidate with at least 5-10 years of experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.
  • Valid Driver's Licence: A valid driver's licence is required, as you will be required to operate a vehicle as part of your duties.
  • Excellent Oral Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be working with a team and interacting with clients.
  • Initiative and Problem-Solving Skills: We are looking for a candidate who is proactive and able to think critically, solving problems as they arise.
