About the Role

Pinecrest Remembrance Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Groundskeeping Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our grounds and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive grounds maintenance plans, including mowing, pruning, and other tasks as required.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Conduct site assessments to determine the necessary resources required for grounds maintenance projects.
  • Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Oversee the construction of outdoor structures, ensuring they are built to a high standard and meet the company's requirements.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Coordinate with contractors and staff to ensure landscape construction projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of grounds maintenance activities, including staff hours, materials used, and project progress.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Ensure all grounds maintenance equipment is in good working order, performing regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Source and procure the necessary materials, equipment, and supplies for grounds maintenance projects.
Requirements
  • 5-10 Years of Experience: Proven experience in grounds maintenance, landscape construction, or a related field.
  • Valid Driver's Licence: A valid driver's licence is required for this role.
  • Excellent Oral Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and manage a team.
  • Initiative: A proactive and self-motivated individual, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
