About the Role

Pinecrest Remembrance Services Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Groundskeeping Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our grounds maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and supervising employees to ensure the efficient operation of the department.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement plans for grounds maintenance, including mowing, pruning, and other tasks to ensure the grounds are well-maintained.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Plan and estimate the labour and materials required for grounds maintenance projects, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative walls, and other landscape features, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan, Manage and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Plan, manage, and supervise landscape construction projects, including planting, pruning, and other tasks.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Maintain accurate records and logs of grounds maintenance activities, including equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Repair and Maintain Equipment: Repair and maintain equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, and other grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment and Supplies: Order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed to ensure that the department has the necessary resources to complete tasks.
Requirements
  • 5-10 Years of Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in grounds maintenance, including supervisory experience.
  • Valid Driver's Licence: A valid driver's licence is required to operate company vehicles.
  • Excellent Oral Communication: Excellent oral communication skills are required to effectively communicate with staff, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Initiative: The ability to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks and projects.
