Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
- Prioritize employee safety and welfare
- Oversee and mentor team members across various levels
- Evaluate technical documentation and provide guidance
- Coordinate resources and facilitate communication between clients and staff
- Establish annual professional development objectives for team members
Financial and Administrative Oversight
- Develop group budgets, monitor performance, and manage contract documentation
Project Coordination
- Build relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Delegate tasks, coordinate projects with other departments, and maintain vendor partnerships
Business Development Initiatives
- Participate in business development efforts and client engagement
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry conferences
Quality Assurance and Technical Engineering Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with standards and offer recommendations for enhancements
- Oversee projects from inception to completion while maintaining technical expertise
- Provide clients with regulatory guidance
Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant discipline
- Over 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering
- Professional Engineering License in Ontario
- Experience in CCIL Certified Lab management is advantageous
- Excellent communication and technical writing abilities
- Experience in business development and financial oversight
