Job Title: Health and Social Services Assistant

  • $25.63 per Hour
  • Temporary Part Time Position
  • Day-Evening-Night Shifts

Position Overview:

Are you dedicated to providing support and fostering connections with individuals requiring assistance? Do you possess strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and multidisciplinary team members? The Health and Social Services Assistant (HSSA) plays a crucial role in aiding clients with various tasks to enhance their daily living or household activities when they encounter challenges. The HSSA may work with children, adults, or seniors in environments such as residential units, group homes, or rehabilitation centers. In this role, with a focus on encouraging client independence, the HSSA will address the client's hygiene, comfort, monitoring, and overall needs. Additionally, the HSSA will communicate any observed changes in the client's physical, cognitive, or emotional health to the team and collaborate on the client's intervention plan for social integration and community engagement through individual and group activities.

Required Qualifications:

Programs DI-TSA-DP Division:
- Completion of the MSSS Accelerated DEP Program
- DEP in Healthcare Facility or Home Support Assistance
- AEC in Life Support Intervention for Autonomy Loss
- One year of training in Healthcare, Assistance, and Nursing Care DEP
- One year of post-secondary education relevant to the position
- High School Diploma

Mental Health and Dependence Programs Division:
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with individuals with special needs or behavioral challenges is advantageous

Youth Protection and Youth Program Division:
- Interest in working with a variety of behavioral or mental health issues
