Role Overview:

Are you dedicated to providing support and fostering connections with individuals in need? Do you possess strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and multidisciplinary team members? The Health and Social Services Assistant (HSSA) plays a crucial role in aiding users with various tasks to enhance their daily living or household activities when they encounter challenges. The HSSA may work with youth, adults, or seniors in environments such as residential units, group homes, or rehabilitation facilities.

In this role, with a focus on promoting user independence, the HSSA will assist with the user's hygiene, comfort, well-being, monitoring, and overall needs. Additionally, the HSSA will communicate any observed changes in the user's physical, cognitive, or emotional health to the team and collaborate on the user's intervention plan aimed at integration and socialization through individual and community activities.

Required Qualifications:

Programs DI-TSA-DP Division:
- Completion of MSSS Accelerated DEP Program
- DEP in Healthcare Facility or Home Support Assistance
- Completion of AEC in Life Support Intervention for Autonomy Loss
- 1 year of training in Healthcare, Assistance, and Nursing Care DEP
- Completion of 1 year of post-secondary education relevant to the role
- High School Diploma

Mental Health and Dependence Programs Division:
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with individuals with special needs or behavioral challenges is advantageous

Youth Protection and Youth Program Division:
- Interest in working with a variety of behavioral or mental health issues
